Got questions?

We create thoughtful, compelling, memorable and original brand names for people who appreciate clever thinking and out-of-the-box ideas. Our approach has the flexibility to adapt to your brief, exploring names comprised of one word, two words or a short phrase. We explore invented names (eg. Lego, Google, Rolex,) compound words, (Wework, Paypal, Snapchat), real words (Bumble, Apple, Amazon), constructed words (Instagram, Shopify) and occasionally, names with alternate spelling (Lyft, Fiverr, Flickr).

Each option is unique; we prioritise originality with trademarking in mind whilst always aiming to craft options that provoke a sense of intrigue and relevance to your idea, industry or vision.

Most importantly though, each option is simple; prioritising brevity, ease of spelling, pronunciation and recall.

You will receive a PDF from us when the names are done. This will include a short explanation or rationale as to why we think these names work well for your business.

Names are a matter of taste, so there’s always a chance that you might not have the appetite for any of the options we present. Just as some people hate names that others love, we recognise subjectivity plays a big part in a brand name. In saying that though, we like to think our briefing process sets us up for success and ensures that we have a good understanding of your likes and dislikes before getting stuck into our process. We work through your questionnaire with the microscopic lens of attention and care - So the more information you can give us in this briefing stage, the higher the chances are that we’ll present a round of names you love. If we come up short on this, you can always pay for an additional round with additional feedback, for $500.

No, because our product is delivered digitally, there is no way for us to ‘claim back’ our IP, so we do not provide refunds for “just not my cup of tea” scenarios.

We get it - you want to avoid those pesky lawyers on your heels. With decades of experience between us in naming brands, we understand the key trends, formulas and obvious sinking sand scenarios lawyers advise us of. Therefore, every name we put forward is concepted with a degree of experience in what usually flies from a trademarking point of view. In saying that however, we do not do any preliminary research on trademarkability of the names we put forward, but instead, alongside our naming options, we refer you to our third-party legal team to suss that side of things out for you.

These are just a few examples, and there can be overlaps or variations within each category. Brand naming can be diverse and creative, tailored to the specific needs and goals of a business.

Company name

This refers to the name of the overall business or organisation, such as "Apple Inc." or "Nike."

Product Name

This is the specific name given to a product or service offered by a company, such as "iPhone" or "Coca-Cola."

Range Name

A range name refers to a collection or series of products or services under a specific brand umbrella. For example, "MacBook Pro," "iPad Air," and "iPod Touch" are all part of Apple's range of products.

Brand Extension

This is when a brand expands into a new product category while leveraging the existing brand name. An example would be "Google Chrome" expanding from a search engine to a web browser.

Subsidiary Name

A subsidiary is a company that is owned or controlled by another larger company. The subsidiary may have its own brand name but is connected to the parent company. For instance, "YouTube" is a subsidiary of "Google."

Line Extension

Line extension occurs when a company introduces a new product or variation within an existing product line. Examples include different flavors of a soft drink or different models of a car brand.

Tagline

A corporate slogan or tagline is a short, memorable phrase that captures the essence of a company or its products/services. Examples include Nike's "Just Do It" and McDonald's "I'm Lovin' It."
